Nana Kwadwo Amoako was named the 2021 National Best Cocoa Farmer at the 37th edition of the National Farmers’ Day celebration held today.
The 52 -year-old farmer from Manso Amenfi in the Western South Cocoa Region has 6 cocoa farms which are 40 hectares in total; producing over 3020 kg/ha.

The National Best Cocoa Farmer took home a brand new vehicle, a dual-purpose motorized slasher/pruner, a motorized spraying machine, protective overalls, safety goggles, repirators, hats, gloves, and various items in recognition of his two decades plus contribution to Ghana’s cocoa sector.
68-year-old Adwoa Sintim, who has a 25-hectare cocoa farm at Koduakrom in the Sankore District of the Ahafo Region emerged as the 2021 National Most Enterprising Female Cocoa Farmer. She was presented with a single cabin mini truck, a dual-purpose motorized slasher/pruner, a motorized spraying machine, protective overalls, safety goggles, respirators, hats, gloves, and various items. In addition, she received a cash price of GHS250,000 from the World Cocoa Foundation.

Kwame Alex, 35 years old, the owner of an 8.5-hectare cocoa farm at Bompieso in the Huni Valley District of the Western South Cocoa Region, respectively, emerged the 2021 National Most Enterprising Female Cocoa Farmer and National Most Promising Young Cocoa Farmer. He was presented with a single cabin mini truck, a dual-purpose motorized slasher/pruner, a motorized spraying machine, protective overalls, safety goggles, respirators, hats, gloves, and various items.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) thanked all the farmers and award winners and promised to continuously work with stakeholders to continuously grow the cocoa sector.
