Deputy Trade Minister urges French companies to invest in Ghana’s Agric sector

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry France Ghana (CCIFG) member companies have been urged to assist the government’s plan for industrialization by Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry.

According to her, the Government’s goal is to industrialise the nation through modernised agriculture. Ms. Asiamah-Adjei made this request in Accra at a dinner dance for CCIFG members.

According to the Deputy Minister, the government would rely on the sector to export value-added goods to attract a lot of foreign exchange because there were so many prospects in agriculture.

She appealed with the private sector, particularly French businesses, to invest in agriculture in order to modernise the industry.

She praised the CCIFG for the part it was playing in fostering trade ties between Ghana and France as well as in attracting companies to and from both countries.

The CCFIG’s Managing Director, Armelle Sae-Jeanne, stated that the initiative was aimed to honour members for their contributions to the growth of the Ghanaian economy and efforts to promote trade ties between French investors and businesses in the country.

She stated that for the last four years, CCFIG had held the awards dinner to honour Chamber members.

“CCFIG supports the business development of French and Ghanaian companies by facilitating trade and financial exchanges between France and Ghana,” she said.

Present at the programme was the Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, Yofi Grant, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Investment Promotion Centre;  Irchad Razaaly, European Union Ambassador to Ghana; Anne-Sophie Avé, French Ambassador to Ghana.
