21-year-old student crowned Miss Agriculture Ghana 2022

Miss Agriculture Ghana, a reality programme aimed at encouraging young women to pursue careers in agriculture, has crowned a new winner, Hannah Larten, a twenty-one-year-old student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, at this year’s event, dubbed “Women in Agribusiness Festival 2022.”

Ms. Larten, Miss Agriculture Ghana 2022 is an agriculturalist in the Upper East Region. She processes cassava and plantain into fine flour.

Clara Shaibu, a University of Cape Coast student who converts organic waste into charcoal or briquettes, came second.

With Asantewaa Martha, a fashion designer and cashew apple juice processor, taking the third position and Adzomani Ama Jochebed, a University of Energy and Natural Resources student, processing soya bean into fine powder for juice and other tasty meals came in fourth.

Contestants of the 5th edition of the pageant had the opportunity to undertake field industrial trips to the HPW Fresh & Dry Factory and the Blue Skies Ghana Factory.

The ladies were at the factories and had the opportunity to interact with some female staff holding top positions in the factories, including the West African Director of Blue Skies, Ruth Adjei, and other women setting the pace for young women in agribusiness.
