Agric students ‘beg’ government for job opportunities

A group of Agriculture students from some six traditional universities in Ghana, have called on the government of Ghana to come to their aid due to lack of employment opportunity.

It is unclear the government’s plan, specifically for students and graduates from the various agricultural tertiary institutes, and there is yet for any official communique from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA).

They insist that due to they become rusty after staying home for long periods without employment.

The group took to Facebook with a post saying;

“The Agriculture Students in Ghana are appealing to the government and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to come to our aid.

This has become necessary following the accumulation of our Agriculture graduates from the 6 colleges in the houses unemployed.”

“Agriculture students in various colleges go through a lot of stress and hardship in the payment of fees of the scrap ‘off’ of our allowances and the absence of feeding grounds during our staying period in school.”

They also maintained their colleagues from other universities enjoy allowances and postings after completion however they are denied same.

“Our neighbours from the other sectors enjoy feeding grants, allowances and posting after school.”

The Agriculture students are thus calling on the government to ensure they are posted and given employment.

“We are pleading on Government and other stakeholders since our allowances have been scrapping off, we should be posted after completion.”

“It is a pity and a shame on us to complete secondary school, goes to tertiary with our brothers into the other sectors, we complete together, they get posted and we are left wanting and struggling with hardships.”
